At Ancient Surfaces we are committed to preserving the elegance and history of architectural antiquity. We source reclaimed architectural materials and bring them back into use as floors, terraces, walls, facades and vaulting in houses being built today. A surface that has already lasted a century gives a new building something no factory finish can.
The inventory is held in four collections. Brick gathers reclaimed antique brick for flooring, walls, facades and vaulted ceilings. Biblos Limestone, Arcane Limestone and Kronos Limestone each carry their own colour, texture and cut, from courtyard paving and terrace flags to honed interior tiles, ashlar block and stair risers. Everything is cleaned and stabilised with respect for the patina it arrived with. We are careful never to clean that away.
Ancient Surfaces has appeared on the front covers of Architectural Digest in May 2011 and LUX Magazine in November 2012, which says something about how our reclaimed stone and architectural antiques are regarded within the design world.
We supply private residences across Manhattan, Jersey City and Newark, and projects nationwide and worldwide that are after genuine historical character. Every pallet is crated and delivered by specialist handlers, and every piece carries a story that becomes part of how a family lives now.

We do not over clean, we do not reproduce, and we do not blur the four collections together to make a sale easier. Brick is brick, and Biblos, Arcane and Kronos each stay themselves. The inventory grows slowly on purpose.
