Kronos Limestone Stair Risers

Kronos Limestone cut into riser slabs on a curving staircase, each one set beneath a thick sawn timber tread so the stone takes the vertical face and the wood takes the wear. The slabs run tan through olive grey to putty, pitted across the face with bedding lines still legible, and they are squared off cleanly where they meet the plaster. Pairing stone risers with timber treads lightens a stair visually. It is a detail worth borrowing for entrance stairs, garden steps, hospitality staircases and restoration projects.
